This Saturday, April 13th the Trails at Mill Pond are hosting a spring cleanup day. The event begins at 9 a.m.
The Trails at Mill Pond are multi-use for walkers and bikers and were created by a volunteer group that continues to improve the trails and maintain them. During the Marshall County Park and Recreation meeting last week, the committee rescheduled the cleanup day to this Saturday because of the muddy conditions.
The volunteers will be clearing the existing trails of leaves that fell over the fall and branches that have fallen from the winter and spring storms.
The Trails committee is also working on the last quarter-mile section of the trail that will open this season. The committee said they are pretty much out of space to make any additional trails although they will continue to enhance the trails and keep up the required maintenance.
Anyone interested in participating in the Trails at Mill Pond cleanup beginning at 9 this Saturday should meet at the parking lot located at 12512 South Rose Road, off State Road 17, southwest of Plymouth.
