The Lawrence County Unit #20 School District has announced its plan to open the 2026-27 school year.

Superintendent Doug Daugherty on Tuesday, July 21st indicated that after much discussion, the decision was made to go with the option of a split schedule. What that means is that both Parkview Junior High and Lawrenceville High School will follow the already adopted school calendar for the year. Staff will report on Monday, August 10th for two days of teacher's institute with first student attendance day being Wednesday, August 12th.

Parkside students and staff will remain on summer break until the district is given the all clear notification regarding the building remediation from mold and environmental testing. Once that occurs, there will be a teacher's institute day followed by the first day of student attendance. The rest of the school year calendar for Parkside will be determined once it is known when school can begin.
