The Lawrence County Unit #20 Board of Educations has taken action to fill an administrative position and a board vacancy.
Meeting in special session Thursday, they moved to hire Cris Edwards as the interim Parkview Junior High School principal and to have Jeff Bobe replace Mike "Doodle" Seitzinger as Region 2 representative on the board.
Edwards was a former teacher at Parkview from 1993 through 2007 before leaving to spend 18 years in administration with the Richland County (Olney) school district before retiring. She replaces Andrea Youngs, who resigned earlier. She will begin her new duties immediately.
Bobe was selected by the board from among 7 candidates who submitted applications for Seitzinger's seat after he stepped down following 16 years of service. He will finish out the term as Region 2 representative until the next school board election scheduled in spring of 2027.
The board also extended the current contract of Superintendent Doug Daugherty through 2025-2026 and changed the November meeting date to Tuesday, the 18th.
