Two Shelbyville homes were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents.
On Friday, Shelbyville Fire and Police were called to 2102 Poncianni Avenue for a personal injury crash. A woman, Edith McGraw, was trapped under a blue mini van. According to Shelbyville police an officer spoke with McGraw’s husband Elmer, age 93, who said he was trying to put his minivan back into the garage when he accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes.
Edith McGraw was taken to IU-Methodist.
Hours later, about 12:30 a.m., police responded to 136 North Vine Street. They were told by the homeowner that a loud bang was heard but before she could get outside the vehicle that struck her house was gone.
Police were unsuccessful in their immediate search for the vehicle.
A silver bumper to a Toyota vehicle was found in front of the residence.
