The Knox County Solid Waste Board has announced it is looking for a new Executive Director of Recycling and Solid Waste.
The position was recently vacated by Michelle Smith, who left to take over as President of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce last month. The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative officer of the Knox County Solid Waste Management District and is responsible for the overall leadership, implementation, and oversight of the solid waste management program. The job also involves supervision of financial operations and providing timely reports to the Board of Directors, among other duties.
