The Marshall County Central Dispatch received a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision at State Road 25 and Chestnut Road on Thursday, May 8th, at 8:10 p.m.
First responders gave medical attention to both drivers at the scene, and Lutheran EMS transported both drivers to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation by Deputy Laffoon, at the scene, it was found that a 1998 Chevy pickup truck driven by 19-year-old Jacob Kats of Tippecanoe made a left turn into the path of a 2008 Buick passenger car, driven by Landon Lewis, 31, of Rochester, which was westbound on State Road 25.
The roadway was briefly closed due to debris and the collision investigation. Neither illegal drugs nor alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the collision.
The Marshall County Police Department was assisted by the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, Tippecanoe Fire Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, and Lutheran EMS.
