The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch in effect until 9 a.m. CT Friday for the entire GIANT-FM WAKO listening area.
Moderate to heavy rainfall with periods of thunderstorms are forecast to bring 1-2 inches of rain through the period with locally higher amounts possible. Excessive runoff could result in flooding of local rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Those in Lawrence and surrounding counties that live in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to tack action should flooding develop. Keep tuned to GIANT-FM WAKO for the latest weather information and be alert for possible flood warnings.
