Tippecanoe Valley High School is proud to announce the completion of a new home built by the building trades class. The house, located at 6697 N. 825 East, Mentone, is now ready for its new homeowners, Jeff and Dawn Brown.
To celebrate this achievement, an open house will be held on Sunday, May 18, from 1-3 p.m. The community is invited to tour the home and see the craftsmanship of the students firsthand.
The building trades class, consisting of around 20 students from both morning and afternoon sessions, has worked diligently throughout the year to help the Browns realize their dream of owning a new home. This hands-on experience has provided students with invaluable skills in construction, teamwork and project management.
Through this program, students learn the intricacies of building a house from the ground up, including framing, roofing, electrical work, plumbing and finishing touches. These practical skills not only prepare them for future careers in the trades, but also instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Tippecanoe Valley Schools is committed to supporting its community by providing opportunities that enhance the lives of its residents. The building trades program exemplifies this commitment by helping families like the Browns fulfill their housing dreams. This initiative reflects the school's dedication to fostering a caring and supportive environment where students and community members can thrive.
