Loren L. Lowe Jr., 38, 7924 Tippecanoe Shores, Tippecanoe, faces charges of resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. The charges stem from a Tuesday night incident near Talma in which he allegedly tried attacking people with pieces of broken glass before being taken into custody with use of a Taser.
A Tippecanoe man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly attempting to attack people with pieces of broken glass while under the influence of alcohol.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at 5249 E. 650 North near Talma. Initial reports indicate that a man, later identified as Loren L. Lowe Jr., 38, 7924 Tippecanoe Shores, was drunk in the middle of the roadway with blood on his face and arm and broken liquor bottles "everywhere."
While medics and firefighters were advised to stage in the area until law enforcement arrived, Lowe reportedly began trying to fight people with pieces of the broken bottles. He also allegedly tried to get into their vehicles, and was falling down and landing in the broken glass.
Lowe was subsequently taken into custody with use of a Taser and transported to Woodlawn Hospital to be medically cleared. Police records indicate that a spit hood was used while he was being transported, as he was spitting blood at the scene. Records also indicate he headbutted a cage of a police vehicle.
He was booked at the Fulton County Jail on charges of resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was additionally held on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an original charge of invasion of privacy.
