The Plymouth Community School Corporation School Board will meet this Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Administration Board Room for a meeting of the Tentative 2024-2025 Master Contract pursuant to Indiana Code.
The meeting is being held for information and to discuss the terms of the tentative collective bargaining agreement with the Plymouth Education Association.
The major change in the agreement includes a slight increase in the salary range for returning teachers. The bottom end remained at $46,000 and there was a $1,000 increase at the upper end to $75,848 from last year’s agreement. After the 2024-2025 teacher contract ratification, the salary range from Will be $47,000 to $77,848 on the high end. Once a teacher reaches $77,848 as their base salary, they will no longer receive a base salary increase but will be eligible for a stipend equivalent to any base salary increases all other teachers receive.
Another change in the contract is the Evaluation Rating for Teachers. Teachers who receive an evaluation rating of Effective or Highly Effective will receive a $2,000 increase to their 2024-2025 base salary, where the previous rate was $1,000. Substitute teachers shall be compensated at a rate of $33.87 per hour as a beginning base salary and increase of $.75 per hour.
The special Plymouth school board meeting is open to the public and will be available by livestream.
