Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop reports that 39 year old Deonta Davis, an inmate at the Lawrence Correctional Center at Sumner was charged with Aggravated Battery of a Correctional Institutional Employee, a Class 2 Illinois felony.
The offense stems from an attack that took place at the prison.
Davis was given an additional 3 years with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to run consecutively with his current sentence.
He will also be on mandatory supervised release for 2 years after getting out of prison
