St. Francisville city officials say that enforcement action will increase against those city residents who have unkempt properties with tall grass and junk in violation of city ordinances.
The City Council was informed Wednesday, September 9th at their regular monthly session that the problem is getting worse and action needed to be taken to curb it. Those deemed in violation will initially be sent letters from the city giving them two weeks to comply and get the property cleaned up or face tickets and potential fines.
Mayor T.J. Moyes indicated that chip and seal work had been completed in the city. He also said that the painting of the city water tower was expected to start this week or next as part of the tower maintenance project.
The council did approve the vacating of an alley and a portion of 11 Street and also the recommendation for a pay raise for one city employee.
