There is good news for the city of St. Francisville in its efforts to improve the water system.

The city council was informed Wednesday August 13th that the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had approved a $550,000 loan for rehabilitation of the main water tower. The city applied for the money earlier in the year. There is still some remaining paperwork to complete before advertising for bids. No firm timetable has been set in regard to the project.

An appropriation of $5000 was approved for the purchase and installation of a updated computer program as part of the upgrading of the city water plant and $9500 was allocated for the replacement of a required aerator in the water system.
