The city of St. Francisville is contracting with a Springfield, Illinois firm to handle their water sampling.

Meeting in special session Monday, the city council voted 5-0 to enter into a 1-year service agreement with Scott Hunt with WHKS. Under the agreement, Hunt will be responsible for assimilating all the water testing data from the city's water plant and water wells and getting that information to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). The city itself will be responsible for gathering the numbers and getting it to Hunt.

The agreement for $26,000 will run from January of 2026 through December of 2026. City officials tell GIANT-FM News that having someone qualified to handle the required duties will ease the responsibilities on the city.
