A portion of State Road 236 will be closing soon in Putnam County, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Beginning on or after Monday, Oct. 21, crews will close a small section of roadway on State Road 236 between County Road 600 West and County Road 650 West in Russell Township in order to replace a small structure in the area.
Work is expected to last until late November but is weather-dependent and subject to change. The official detour around the closure is SR 236 east to U.S. 231 north to SR 234 west
to SR 47 south to S.R. 59 south to SR 236 east on the east side of the work zone, and SR 236 west to SR 59 north to SR 47 north to SR 234 east to U.S. 231 south to SR 236 west on the west side.
INDOT encourages drivers to seek an alternate route and use caution while traveling in and around all work zones.
