A Shelbyville man says he was injured when he had to swerve his moped to avoid an oncoming car.
Shelbyville Police met with Mark Conner, 40, in the Major Health Partners emergency room. Conner said he was riding his moped eastbound on E. State Road 44 in the 1400 block. Conner explained that he rode into the middle turn lane to turn left, but an older white sedan was westbound and swerved toward him in the turn lane. Conner said that the vehicles didn't collide but when he swerved to avoid the collision it made him crash.
Conner said the other vehicle went back into its lane and continued westbound. From there, Conner was able to get his moped to Hubler, where he was turning into, and they took him to the emergency room.
Conner had road rash on his right lower right arm. He said he had complaint of pain to his right arm, right hip, and right lower leg.
