Firefighters responded to a call from a Shelbyville business Thursday.
Just before 11 p.m. Thursday, Shelbyville Fire Department crews were dispatched to the Old Hickory furniture factory at 403 South Noble Street for a commercial structure fire alarm. A second caller reported smoke coming from the building.
On arrival, crews found smoke on three floors of the heavy timber structure and made entry. The fire was contained with no injuries reported. The building’s sprinkler system activated and assisted in preventing the fire from spreading.
The cause remains under investigation
