Two Rochester teenagers were arrested for allegedly stealing items from three different unlocked vehicles.
Kirsta Sky Cheesman, 19, was charged with theft, a Class A misdemeanor.
Stephen Daniel Hernandez, 18, was charged with theft of a firearm, a Level 5 felony; two counts of theft, both Class A misdemeanors; and unauthorized entry of a vehicle, a class B misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the Fulton County Sheriff's Department was contacted on May 25 about several thefts from unlocked vehicles at Rochester Community High School. One of those victims also reported a missing firearm.
Another victim reported that her purse was stolen, along with several credit cards.
Reports stated that an employee working at Beacon Credit Union soon contacted the victim about one of her debit cards being found near the ATM at the bank.
After watching bank surveillance footage, officers observed Cheesman driving a vehicle near the ATM. Three transactions were made on one of the cards, totaling more than $300. One CashApp transaction was also made, with the transfer being sent to Cheesman's account.
Cheesman, found driving in the area on May 29, was pulled over by a Fulton County Sheriff Deputy.
Hernandez had also been in the vehicle as a passenger at that time, and had told the deputy that he did have a weapon in the vehicle at that time.
It was quickly discovered that the weapon Hernandez had been carrying was the stolen firearm that had been reported missing on May 25.
The two were arrested and booked at the Fulton County Detention Center.
The pretrial conference for Cheesman is scheduled to be at the Fulton County Courthouse September 3. Hernandez's pretrial conference is scheduled for September 4, at the Fulton County Courthouse.
