The Fulton County Public Library has prepared a for a summer full of reading, activities, and special events, with registration for the 2026 Summer Library Program opening earlier this week on Monday, June 1st.
Library patrons can enter by either checking out or returning materials or using library resources while visiting a branch, such as reading books or attending programs. Participants who sign up for the Summer Library Program (SLP) will be eligible for weekly prize drawings.
This year’s theme, “Unearth a Story,” will focus on dinosaurs, fossils, and archaeology through a variety of hands-on programs and presentations for all ages.
The library has scheduled several featured programs throughout the summer in partnership with visiting organizations. “Mark’s Ark,” an interactive animal show and petting zoo, will visit all three library branches on Tuesday, June 9. This program will take place from 1-2 p.m. at the Rochester Branch, 3-4 p.m. at the Fulton Branch, and 5-6 p.m. at the Aubbee Branch.
The Indiana Dinosaur Museum will present dinosaur-themed programs at the Rochester Branch on Monday, June 15, from 1-2 p.m.; at the Fulton Branch on Tuesday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to noon; and at the Aubbee Branch on Monday, June 22, from 3-4 p.m.
Roz Puppets will perform at all three branches on Tuesday, June 30. Showtimes are scheduled for 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Rochester, 3-4 p.m. at Fulton, and 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Aubbee Branch.
Dinosaur enthusiasts can also attend programs by FelleRExpress Dinosaurs at the Aubbee Branch on Tuesday, July 7, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.; at the Rochester Branch on Wednesday, July 8, from 11 a.m. to noon; and at the Fulton Branch on Wednesday, July 8, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
In addition to these featured events, the library’s Teen and Children’s Departments will host “Friday Fundays” each week during SLP from 1-2:30 p.m. Planned activities include “Community Cave Art,” “Jurassic Bugs,” and “Olympic Games!”
