Red Hill Unit #10 officials are pleased with the progress being made on the $4 million South Gym renovation project.
Superintendent Jakie Walker told the Board of Education Thursday that the work is on schedule. Concrete work is continuing under the floor, and new lines are being drawn on the floor itself. Work still remains to be done with the locker and bathrooms and in the concession stand area and the gymnasium walls are being firmed up. It is still hoped that the project will be done by late November. It is being paid for through the sale of general obligation school bonds, which was approved in June.
The board will be able to assess the project for themselves later in July. They have scheduled a facilities walk-through for Thursday, July 31st at 5 p.m.
