Marshall County Extension Board, the oversight committee for Purdue Extension activities in the county, will host its annual meeting and dinner on Thursday, November 6, at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Plymouth Wesleyan Church, located at 11203 Michigan Road, south of Plymouth. The meeting includes a full meal, prepared by Log House Restaurant, and an evening of celebrating the efforts of our local Purdue Extension office.
This year’s featured speakers will be from Marshall County HOPE and the Marshall County Sheriff's Department. The topics will include the partnership with Purdue Extension and Marshall County HOPE, the prevention and treatment of substance use, and recovery support.
The entire Marshall County community is welcome to attend. Tickets for the Extension Board Annual Meeting are available through the Extension Office or any current Extension Board member, at the cost of $10.00/ticket.
Current Extension Board members include President- Marianne Peters, Vice President – Tim Starr, Secretary- Lynn Fitzpatrick, Terri Barnhart, Steve Barry, Jodie Overmyer, Martha Ramierz, Lorna Shively, Barb Holcomb, Pam Kurtis and Jr. Board member, Keenan Akers. County Representatives include Jesse Bohannon and Will Patterson.
The Purdue Extension Service is represented in Marshall County by Brianna Slonaker, Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources; Karen Richey, County Extension Director and Extension Educator for Health and Human Sciences; and Jayne Deaton, Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development. Nutrition Education Program Assistants include Kathe Beehler and Yolanda Gorka. Office support staff includes Lindsay Schrader and Krystyna Hyrczyk.
