During the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meeting last week, a public hearing was held for a confirmatory resolution to amend the plan list in TIF District No. 3 to add a contribution to the Marshall County Career Innovation Center. There were no public comments on the amendment.
City Attorney Jeff Houin explained that Thursday’s action was the final step in the process to add the contribution to the Career Innovation Center. The request has already passed through the initial phase with the Redevelopment Commission, been approved by the Plymouth Plan Commission, and received approval from the Plymouth Common Council.
A resolution confirming the amendment of the spending plan for TIF No. 3 to include a contribution to the Marshall County Career Innovation Center was unanimously approved. The Redevelopment Commission also adopted a formal motion to approve the request for $250,000 from the Lifelong Learning Network for the Marshall County Career Innovation Center.
Houin said, “It’s been slightly less than a year since we started this project.”
The contribution will be used to purchase tools and equipment for the new automotive facility and to support a program for high school students from the county, as well as to provide additional educational opportunities for adults.
