A Plymouth man was arrested Wednesday evening after police say he pushed another man during a fight on North Seventh Street.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to an address on North Seventh Street at approximately 6 p.m. on October 21 following reports of two people fighting.
After a brief investigation, Officer Thornton determined that Carlos Matute, 47, of Sycamore Street in Plymouth, had pushed another male during the altercation.
Matute was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a charge of battery.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
