The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety rejected another set of quotes during the meeting Monday evening. This time the quotes were rejected for two pickup trucks for the Wastewater Department.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson came to the meeting with a recommendation for the Water Department truck purchase. Two weeks ago, quotes were opened, one from Oliver Ford for $48,776 and the second from Auto Park for $40,125.25. Davidson said the Auto Park quote lacked the 4-corner strobes, rubber floor mats and it came with carpet instead of vinyl. He said purchasing those items would be $1,000 or less so the quote would still be less than the quote from Oliver Ford. The Board of Public Works and Safety motioned to award the quote to Auto Park.
Davidson said one of the quotes for the Wastewater Department pickup trucks did not use the correct type of truck cab. He said he wanted a good comparison, so he asked the Board of Public Works and Safety to reject the quotes which they did. Davidson will seek new quotes for the two, three-quarter-ton pickup trucks with the correct cab.
