A traffic stop turned into a significant drug arrest when a Parke County Sheriff discovered illegal substances and paraphernalia.
38-year-old Steven M. Weldon Jr. of Mecca was arrested on CR 600 W following the officer's vehicle inspection.
Nine ounces of Methamphetamine was discovered along with Xanax, syringes, and other paraphernalia that indicate the selling of drugs. Additionally, ammunition and firearms were found in the vehicle adding another charge. Weldon faces charges of dealing methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
