The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory for the entire GIANT-FM listening area.
It will be in effect from 1 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. CT Saturday.
Winds are expected to increase as the day moves along from the south at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
The gusty winds will blow around unsecured outdoor objects.
Winds that strong can also make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles such as campers and large trucks.
The advisory preceeds a strong weather system expected to bring unsettled, stormy weather to start the weekend.
