A no-pressure, instruction-based ladies sailing group will be available on Sundays this summer in Culver.
Sponsored by the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club, the group is open to women from all experience levels, including those who have never been on a sail boat.
Classes runs through August 10 and will be “come when you can” and “learn at your level” group. Those interested in attending should meet at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday's at Benedict’s Pier, 708 Peru Court, in Culver, although weekly attendance is not required to be included in the class at a later date. Participants are asked to bring life jackets, if possible. Those unable to bring a life jacket should contact the Max Yacht Club before the day of class so they can make arrangements to provide one.
The group plans on meeting each week regardless of wind conditions. On days with less wind the club plans on teaching other exercises, like boat safety, and Q & A's with instructors.
For more information on the sailing group you can contact the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club by email at maxyachtclub@gmail.com or call / text Terri at 574-721-2207.
