The Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department has announced Matt Mason will perform a free concert on July 31 at Blue River Memorial Park.
Mason’s daughter, Ella Mae Mason, will be the opening performer for the free concert that starts at 7 p.m.
Matt Mason is a 2004 graduate of Triton Central High School who moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music. In 2006, he made his television debut on the reality competition show “Nashville Star” and finished fourth.
In 2011, he was crowned “CMT’s Next Superstar” on another competition show. Mason has since toured the country and returned to Shelby County last year for a summer concert for the first time in close to a decade.
