Deputy Bragg with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest Monday afternoon after observing suspicious activity while on routine patrol.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3rd, Deputy Bragg was patrolling the area of Elm Road and Lincoln Highway when he noticed suspicious activity at a nearby property and stopped to investigate. During his investigation, a male on the property was identified as Breck K. Carper of Manchester and was found to be attempting to steal items from the location.
Carper was placed under arrest and lodged at the Marshall County Jail on a charge of Class A Misdemeanor Theft. His cash bond was set at $500.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
