It has been a solid year fiscally for the Lawrence Public Library District in 2026.
The Board of Trustees received that summation from accountant David Weger during their regular monthly session this week. Library Board chairman John White told GIANT-FM News that credit goes to head Librarian Diane Brumley and her staff with keeping a close eye on various operating expenses. He added that the district works to keep a monetary reserve built up in case of emergencies. The library does have some facilities improvement projects coming up involving windows and doors at their 814-12th Street location in Lawrenceville.
The board did schedule dates in early August for two committee meetings. The Personnel Committee will get together August 6th and the Finance Committee on August 12th to review employee salaries for 2027.
