The Veterans Crisis Hotline contacted the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department on Friday for a suicidal male, and deputies were dispatched to Cardinal Circle at 7:48 p.m. to assist.
The male subject was later located by Bourbon Police Officer Prater parked near 12B Road and Iris Road. Rendell G. Lawson, 24, was the driver and sole occupant. He quickly left the area when police arrived, and finally stopped at 12th Road and Jute Road.
Alcohol containers were found in the vehicle.
Marshall County Deputies conducted an investigation for operating while intoxicated. A certified test was completed and showed that Lawson was over twice the legal limit. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
