Increasing the accessibility of the public to the library is the goal of the Lawrence Public Library Board.
They met on Wednesday, July 21st and moved to proceed with two projects. One is to install automatic door openers on the front door and foyer door to allow for easier entry at a cost of around $12,500. The other is to place new doors at the entrances to the historical room in order to allow it to be closed off for meeting and other type gatherings at the cost of around $6,260. No firm timetable was given for completion.
The board also approved adoption of the annual tax levy ordinance for building and maintenance purposes.
The library is seeking to hire a part-time assistant to work about 19 to 20 hours for 3 days a week. Applications are available at the front desk at the library located at 814 12th Street in Lawrenceville during regular business hours.
