Efforts are underway to fill the town clerk vacancy in Kewanna.
Joann Collins was Kewanna Town Clerk, Collins passed away on June 20 leaving a vacancy with official notice of this vacancy filed with the Fulton County Republican Chairwoman Amy Roe on June 25.
Eligible applicants must be residents of Kewanna, registered voters, and Republicans in good standing.
Roe noted in a press release that since fewer than two persons would be eligible to participate in a precinct committeemen caucus to fill this vacancy that according to IC 3-13-11-5 (c) or Indiana Code 3-13-11-8 (b) she is giving notice of the appointment of a qualified individual for this vacancy pro tempore to this office for the remaining unexpired term.
The Kewanna Town Clerk vacancy will be filled by noon on Monday, July 6. The swearing-in of the new candidate will be on Friday, July 10, at 8:30 a.m. at the Fulton County Clerk’s Office.
Declarations of Candidacy are available at the Fulton County Clerk’s office, 815 Main St., Rochester, IN, Fulton County. They must be notarized and filed with the Chairwoman no later than 72 hours before Monday, July 6 (12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30).
