Renovations at Jaycee Park, 1204 Monroe St, have wrapped up early due to a high demand of kids eager to play at the Rochester park.
On Thursday, August 20, officials asked locals to stay out of the area after dozens of kids climbed the then closed park in anticipation to its opening.
Rochester Park & Recreation's had been working on renovations at the park over the year to update not only the play equipment, but also additional parking and new sidewalks around the area.

In a Facebook on Thursday, officials said although the playground area may have seemed safe, the surrounding areas were still an active work zone and stated that landscaping was still underway, with grass still being planted, and that there were areas that had been currently marked off for everyone’s safety. Kids, however, still gathered there anyways on Thursday evening, making it impossible to stop everybody.
While they hope to open the park by mid to late next week, and claimed an official opening date has not yet been set, with safety measures kept in mind, the park was officially opened last minute this afternoon on Friday, August 21.
