Indiana Career Scholarship Account (CSA) application opened on March 1.
The CSA allows Hoosier parents of 10th through 12th grade students enrolled in an approved CSA program for the upcoming school year to pursue high-quality work-based learning opportunities, including internships, apprenticeships, and applied learning experiences.
“CSAs give students real educational opportunities in today’s job market. It also shows that Indiana is leading the way in giving parents and their children real choices for their future,” said Treasurer Daniel Elliott.
Beth Michalek, praised the CSA program when sharing her son’s journey.
“My son was hired by Ferrer Mechanical for a summer internship in plumbing and will be returning to the ABC Prep Academy program. He is not just learning trade skills at ABC Prep, but the school is installing in him confidence, work ethic, and responsibility,” said Beth Michalek, a parent of a CSA student. "Throughout the school year, I have seen him grow in his confidence not just in the trades but also in his confidence in having a purpose after high school.”
CSA providers also attest to the advantages that the program provides to its students.
“As an approved CSA employer and training provider, the program has increased opportunities for Indiana students to earn valuable healthcare certifications, participate in meaningful clinical and work-based learning experiences, and build a network of professional connections in the healthcare sector—creating true talent pipelines and helping to meet our state's current and ever-growing demand for healthcare workers, said Matthew Presley, President and CEO, Legacy Medical Academy.”
CSA is an innovative, state-funded scholarship designed to help students pursue their interests through unique career preparation opportunities, while giving local employers a chance to connect with, mentor, and recruit talent.
The Career Scholarship Account Program was created in 2023 by former Indiana State Representative Chuck Goodrich (R-Noblesville). More than 2,200 students have benefited from this unique funding since the first enrollment took place for the 2023-2024 school year.
The CSA application deadline is Oct. 1, 2025.
