Residents in the city of Greencastle will see some improvements when it comes to the party lights along Indiana Street, as well as sidewalks very soon, according to Mayor Lynda Dunbar.
"Here in a few weeks, the party lights will need to come off the buildings. We will have new poles going up. We are going to put the poles up kind of like they have on Georgia Street with the party lights going across and we are going to expand that a little ways down past Breadworks. Also, when U.S. 231 is done, hopefully, we will see the new street lights being put up. We have the proposal for those, and, hopefully, redevelopment will approve that this Wednesday and we can work to get the new, decorative streetlights up on Jackson Street. Excited about that," Dunbar told The Putnam County Post.
In addition, Dunbar said preliminary work has already begun as to what a facelift to downtown Greencastle would look like.
Furthermore, Dunbar said the city's sidewalk project will be going out to bid soon and will feature repairs to sidewalks all over town.
