Illinois crude oil production totaled just over 7.2 million barrels in 2024.
That is according to statistics released by the Illinois Petroleum Board.
The number is a slight increase from 2023.
Lawrence County produced 291,845 barrels in 2024, down 46,000 barrels from 2023, the largest decrease in the region.
Lawrence County ranked seventh out of the 45 oil-producing counties in Illinois.

White County in southeastern Illinois continued to lead the state in oil production with over 2.2 million barrels produced in 2024.
