According to court documents, a Greencastle man was sentenced to 55 years in jail following a conviction in his wife's death. Putnam County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Headley handed down the sentence.
Joseph Rosa claimed he found his wife dead in their living room on May 14, 2023. Court documents state Rosa called a friend, saying he found his wife covered in blood and stiff to the touch and asked the friend to call authorities.
Police responded to the scene in the 3000 block of South County Road 550 West to find Nancy Rosa's deceased body in the living room. Deputies noted she had been shot multiple times. An investigation revealed Nancy Rosa was shot at a close distance, and investigators located a .357 gun, as well as blood splatter on her husband's clothing and body. Rosa told investigators multiple times he had no memory of what happened to his wife.
