Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced today that Wright Industries, a manufacturer of premium ambulances and specialty vehicles, will significantly expand its operations in Goshen, creating more than 250 new, high-wage jobs by the end of 2028.
“Indiana’s advanced manufacturing sector continues to grow, propelling the industry and its high-wage jobs forward,” said Gov. Braun. “Today we celebrate the growth of Wright Industries, a company powered by the strength and skill of northern Indiana’s unmatched RV sector. The company’s decision to grow in Elkhart County is a testament to our business climate and our workforce, and we look forward to hundreds of new jobs on the horizon.”
Wright Industries was established in 2025 to design, build and remount ambulances, supporting the mission of saving lives. The company, which has already outgrown its initial 72,000-square-foot facility, will invest $18,000,000 to expand its footprint in Goshen, purchasing the former Wabash National Services manufacturing facility at 2672 E. Kercher Road. The 12-building, 380,000-square-foot campus spans 72 acres, providing ample room for Wright Industries to grow.
The company has begun renovations of the new facility and plans to move beginning next week, increasing its production and growing its team. New positions are expected to offer average salaries that are up to 125% of the Elkhart County average.
"Indiana, and specifically Goshen, offers the pro-business climate, talent pool and work ethic that gives us the confidence to invest in this community and grow Wright Industries, creating high-paying jobs and future opportunities for our employees, suppliers and dealers for generations to come,” said David Wright, CEO of Wright Industries and a tenured executive of Indiana’s RV sector.
Wright Industries, a division of Wright Capital Management, is dedicated to revitalizing American manufacturing through innovation, operational excellence and integrity. The company debuted its all-new Rescue Star Type II ambulance, built on the 2026 Ford Transit chassis, in 2025 and introduced its new Rescue Star RS 170 Type III ambulance at EMS World in Orlando earlier this month. The Rescue Star product line offers the longest list of standard features in the industry, along with premium components to meet the unique needs of first responders.
“Wright Industries is the latest in a long time of companies choosing to grow in Indiana and to create new, high-wage jobs in the South Bend-Elkhart region,” said Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich. “Our state’s strength in advanced manufacturing is powering continued business investments, driving entrepreneurship and supporting the growth of new companies like Wright Industries.”
Today’s news comes just after Gov. Braun highlighted the economic momentum happening in the South Bend-Elkhart region and after another Elkhart County company – Boundless Recreation – announced the launch of its operations in Bristol, creating up to 115 new, high-wage jobs in the region.
