Give Like Dolly Day opens on September 25

In Shelby County, 1,370 children receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

One of those special people was Bob Wortman, who spearheaded fundraising efforts to help make Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available to children throughout Shelby County. Bob passed away earlier this year, and September 29 would have been his 95th birthday.

Give Like Dolly Day will begin on September 25 by recognizing Dolly's philanthropic heart and honoring Bob’s local legacy of giving. From September 25 through Bob’s birthday on September 29, gifts to the Shelby County Imagination Library Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $9,500. This match opportunity is being offered by the Wortman Family in honor of Bob’s birthday.
