On Monday afternoon, members of the Marshall County Election Board met in the County Clerk’s Office to approve credentials and count the early mail and travel board ballots.
Marshall County Clerk, Jenny Bennit said during the weeks prior to the May 7th a total of 1130 individuals walked into one of the polling sites in the Courthouse, the Pines in Bremen or the Culver School Administration building for early voting. The numbers were 929 in the courthouse, 86 from the Bremen polling site and 115 from the Culver polling site.
The counting of mail-in, email and travel board ballots were confirmed on Monday as members took the time to count and verify the votes from each of the twenty-nine precincts in Marshall County. For the May Primary there were 106 Travel Board votes, 176 mail-in votes and 6 emails. It was noted that the Clerk’s Office sent out 210 mail-in and email ballots and only 182 were returned.
Voters will go to the polls today from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. to select their party’s candidates for the November Presidential Election. In Marshall County Vote Centers are used. Registered votes don’t have to vote in a specific location, they can vote at any of the following locations in the county.
In Argos voting will be at Gallery on West at the fairgrounds. Voters can vote at the Matchette Center on Harris Street in Bourbon. In Bremen there are two vote centers, one at the Bremen High School and the other at the Pines on Plymouth Street. The Culver School Administration Building on School Street will be the vote center in Culver and in LaPaz voters can stop by the LaPaz Fire Station. Voters have four options in Plymouth, the Knights of Columbus Hall on East Jefferson Street, the Life Enrichment Center on Harrison Street, Marshall County REMC on 12th Road at U.S. 31 and at the Pretty Lake Church Fellowship Hall on State Road 17. Other vote centers include the Tippecanoe Community Center on State Road 331 and the Tyner Community Center on French Street.
Remember when you go to vote, you must declare a party and bring a photo ID.
