The city of Vincennes has issued a reminder to motorists and shoppers that paving repair work begins this week on Main Street. Crews will begin milling and resurfacing in the downtown area starting Tuesday, May 27th. Mayor Joe Yochum says that the work is anticipated to last all week and possibly into the weekend, depending on weather and other factors. Those heading downtown are being advised to park in the city parking lots and avoid Main Street itself. The paving is one of two major projects affecting Vincennes. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) work on Indiana State Road 441 from Willow Street to the Memorial Bridge also continues this week with Willow Street being closed. Sixth Street near Good Samaritan Hospital has reopened to vehicular traffic.
