Crider will be recognized by Hope Academy because of his tireless advocacy for mental health and addiction recovery.
At the annual Rise & Shine for Hope breakfast fundraiser, the Hope Academy will honor State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield) as the 2024 Faces of Hope Award recipient.
Crider will also deliver a keynote speech to those in attendance.
Hope Academy is one of only seven recovery high schools in the United States accredited by the Association of Recovery High Schools. Additionally, Hope Academy has partnered with the Simon Youth Foundation and Indiana Public Schools to bridge a gap to serve more students in the Indianapolis area.
Crider will be recognized by Hope Academy because of his tireless advocacy for mental health and addiction recovery. His leadership in expanding behavioral health clinics and crisis response centers across Indiana has been instrumental in supporting individuals and youth impacted by substance use disorders.
“It’s truly an honor to receive the 2024 Faces of Hope Award,” Crider said. “I am glad the resources we have worked on over the last few years have had a positive impact on our mental health care system and have been able to help those working through substance use disorders. I look forward to continuing to improve our mental health care system and hope we will be able to help even more of those suffering from mental illness.”
The Rise and Shine for Hope breakfast fundraiser still has tickets and sponsorship opportunities available. The event will take place Thursday Nov. 14 from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at the Ivy Tech Culinary and Conference Center.
