Joseph Soto Crespo was arrested on Saturday, June 29th at 3:20 in the morning after city police were dispatched to the Speedway Gas Station on North Michigan Street for an intoxicated male refusing to leave the store.
Before Plymouth Police officers arrived, the dispatch center advised that the male left driving a vehicle. Officers located a vehicle matching the description with a male driver in the drive through at McDonald's. Officers made contact with the driver identified as Joseph Soto Crespo, 34, of Plymouth. During the investigation it was determined that Soto-Crespo was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated as a class C misdemeanor. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail without incident. Soto-Crespo was booked in for operating while intoxicated and held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
