The incumbent mayors of the two biggest cities in Lawrence County have retained office.
Lawrenceville mayor David Courtney defeated challenger Ryan Curtis 512-336 and Bridgeport mayor Tyler Griffin won over Billie Ralston 169-125 in Tuesdays consolidated election.
In contested races in Bridgeport, incumbent Ldora Laughlin defeated Christopher Swick 93-35 for Ward 2 alderperson and Richard Fiscus ousted incumbent T.J. McClellan 76-55 in Ward 3.
In contested races in Lawrenceville, Kelly Lewis defeated Michael Hedges 98-65 for Ward 1 alderperson, incumbent Theresa Greene narrowly won over Louie Campbell 81-74 in Ward 4 and incumbent James Dunn won over Paul Waller 92-50 to complete an unexpired term in Ward 4.
In a contested race in St Francisville, incumbent Lee J. Campbell edged Peter Valledor 28-24 for Ward 2 alderman.
William Dugger won Christy Twp Highway Commissioner with 146 votes to 78 for Lee Bridwell and 49 for David Ulrich.
Top votegetters for Christy Twp Trustee were Scott Weiss (170), Ryan Roark (136), Clay Atkins (117) and Tony Clark (108).
Top votegetters for Denison Twp Trustee were Ross Padgett (109), Allison Moyes (99), Kelly Moyes (99) and Joe Thompson (96).
Leading the votes for Russell Twp Trustee were Jacob Benson (70), Kathy Gowen (60), Alex Hamblin (52) and Cathy Lockhart (52).
Here are the vote totals for Red Hill Unit #10 School board-Bryan Moore (637), Russell Adams (601), Matthew Brashear (549), Billy Gray (538), John Phipps (409) and Tony Fiscus (392).
All of the results are unofficial until certified by the Illinois State Board of Elections.
Voter turnout was low with only 2,428 of the 8,843 Lawrence County residents registered to vote casting ballots, a total of 27.46%
