Marshall County Deputy Matt Geiger stopped a white Toyota Highlander for speeding 100 mph in a posted 60 mph zone on U.S. 30 near Hawthorn Road Saturday evening at about 7:45.
The driver was identified as Jason A. Erne, 27, of Warsaw.
The county officer found that Erne had been drinking. He was given field sobriety tests and a certified test that showed the blood alcohol content to be .12%.
Erne was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in with a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
