During their meeting on Monday, the Marshall County Commissioners awarded the bid to pave the parking lot at 211 West Jefferson Street.
Three sealed bids were opened on September 16 and taken under advisement by Building and Grounds supervisor Billy Schoff. On Monday, Schoff presented his findings to the commissioners. The low bid from Brooks Construction was $48,140 and included the installation of a dry well, which will be completed in 2025. The bid from Milestone Contractors was $53,500 and included an additional $7,000 for the installation of a dry well; work will be completed in spring 2025.
The final bid from Rieth Riley Construction, including installing of a drywall, was $50,387. Their pricing was based on a completion date of November 22.
Commissioner Mike Burroughs motioned to take the higher bid of Rieth Riley for the paving project with the stipulation that the work will be completed by November 22. Commissioner Overmyer seconded the motion and it unanimously passed.
