Saturday morning, January 4th, at approximately 6:30, Plymouth Police responded to the Red Rock Inn at 2550 N. Michigan Street after the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an active domestic disturbance.
When city police officers arrived, a male was heard yelling. They quickly identified the suspect as 25-year-old Trevonta D. Piper of Plymouth.
During the investigation, it was determined that children were involved and present. One of the children had injuries that required them to be seen at the hospital.
Piper was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for criminal charges of felony domestic battery of a juvenile under the age of 14 resulting in bodily injury, felony neglect of a dependent, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Trevonta Piper is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
