Officers from the Plymouth Police Department arrested several individuals this week for driving with license issues.
On the afternoon of Sunday, October 12, Patrolman Thornton initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing that the vehicle failed to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. While speaking with the driver, it was discovered that 32-year-old Cintia Johana Matute Velasquez of Plymouth had never received a license. Velasquez was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail, and charged with operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license with a prior conviction.
On Monday, October 13th, at 7:51 p.m., Officer Ayala with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of N. Michigan Street and Novelty Street for an unsafe lane movement violation. During the investigation, it was discovered that 38-year-old Carlos D. Castillo-Lopez of Plymouth was operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license. Castillo-Lopez was transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in for knowingly or intentionally operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license. Castillo-Lopez was given a $100 cash bond.
On Wednesday, October 15th, an officer with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no taillights. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that Saul Alejandro Gutierrez Pablo, 24, of Champaign, Illinois, was operating without ever receiving a driver’s license. He was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail for operating without ever receiving a license.
Thursday afternoon, October 16th, at about 2:20, a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Ernest Alfredo Lumbi Montoya of Plymouth was stopped for a traffic infraction at Michigan and Adams Streets. Montoya was found to have never obtained a license. He was lodged at the Marshall County Jail, given a court date of November 25, and a bond of $100.
On Friday morning, October 17th, at about 9:45, a vehicle driven by Berrios was stopped for a traffic infraction at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Michigan Road. Juleisy E Rodas Berrios of Goshen was found to have a license status of suspended-prior. She was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for driving while suspended with a prior. Berrios was given a $500 cash bond and a court date of November 25, 2025.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
