Recently, parents and students were advised by letter that Diesel Mechanic classes wouldn't be available at the Blue River Career Center until a new instructor was named.
A reason for the loss of the previous instructor came Monday in arrest information released by the Shelbyville Police Department.
On September 6, the Shelbyville Police Department was notified by the Blue River Career Center of misconduct by the Diesel Mechanic Instructor, Matthias Ellis. The police department started an investigation which is still an ongoing investigation.
The investigation has led the police department to arrest Ellis on the charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Child Seduction.
The Shelbyville Police Department release states that the investigation also uncovered additional misconduct committed by Ellis. Ellis is also being charged with theft.
Ellis was arrested on Monday. He was transported to the Shelby County Jail and awaits his court appearance.
